Beyond School Program

Beyond School is essentially a program run after school hours in the urban slum communities of Mumbai. It aims to support the children in education and accelerate their growth in academics. Taking a very holistic approach, the program has self designed its curriculum on academics, life skill and community transformation to reach the said goals and objectives of the program.

To provide holistic education to students enrolled from the community. To focus on academic assistance by strengthening language learning and mathematical concepts. To eradicate the learning gap created by lack of holistic education delivery in low-income and private schools . To organise excursion visits (here virtual) to supplement the knowledge beyond the syllabus. To bring positive behavioural changes in the students.

Objective:

OUR REACH

Beyond School program is designed to implement as an after -school model with a time table of weekly sessions of academics for concept clarity, digital literacy and life skills to emotional growth throughout the academic year. The program aims to make quality education accessible to all. It intends to reduce the drop outs from formal education through systematic approach which focuses on academic development along with emotional development supplemented with digital.

Curiculum Planning & Implementation Strategy:
The curriculum is based in Bloom’s Taxonomy framework which promotes 21st-century skills in the teaching learning methodology. The lesson plan designed inculcates 21st century skills so that the students involve them in activity based learning.

The students learn concepts as per the grade level, a behavioural change matrix developed in house monitors their emotional growth, digital literacy skill improves their knowledge in computers and applications making them responsible citizens to enter the phase of adulthood, complete their education by joining competitive colleges.

Digital Summer Camp

Digital Summer Camp 2021 was conducted in the month of April and due to pandemic and lockdown, it was completely online. The pictures is of one of the many project presentations by the students on the finale day. For the Summer Camp students engaged in many games and activities that culminated the year in fun and jolly.
