Pandit Hariprasad Chaurisha's charity performance to support the cause of VIDYA Bangalore on 27th January , 2013 ran to a full house. His sublime music enthralled the packed auditorium. VIDYA is deeply grateful to Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia for his constant and unstinting support. After the enthralling and moving performance , Panditji gave away the trophies of the' painting competition ` My promise to India' conducted by Vidya. 4,300 school children from across 19 Bangalore schools had enthusiastically participated in this painting competition organised by VIDYA, during the months of December '12 and January '13. The winners were delighted to receive their trophies and blessings from Panditji after the performance. The winning paintings were also exhibited at the Kynkyny Art Gallery , one of Bangalore's leading art gallery on 3rd February , 2012. In addition to the winning paintings , also on exhibit were paintings donated to VIDYA by 7 eminent artists – G. Subramanian, Basuki Dasgupta, JMS Mani, Praveen Kumar, MG Doddamani, Sivabalan, Sachin Jaltare and Santhana Krishnan. Art lovers, parents and VIDYA patrons were generous in buying paintings, to support VIDYA's work in Bangalore. VIDYA cherishes the support of our lead sponsors Lady Shri Ram College for Women Alumni Association Bangalore and Kynkyny Art who managed the events .
